In the past we have touched on the safety devices that you should have in your home. We hope you are thinking about ways to make your home a safer place. The problem with some of you is that just because you have these devices, doesn't mean they are in working order.
Let me ask you this, when was the last time you checked to make sure your smoke detectors worked? If you're a bad cook you might unintentionally test your smoke detectors often. But for those of you who are a whiz in the kitchen, the odds are you haven't tested your smoke detectors lately or ever.
I am sure you're a busy person just like everyone who claims they don't have the time to test their detectors. The good news for you is that it only takes a few minutes and is pretty dang simple. Make it a weekly routine like getting the Sunday morning paper or right before you start your work week.
The most precious sound in your life just might be that alarm going off in the middle of the night. A smoke detector is a life saving device. Make sure it is able to do its job should it need to.
